It’s hard to determine the meaning behind rose colors because it’s so open to interpretation.  One person’s definition of a particular rose color can be completely different to another person.  Some people don’t even attach definitions to roses.  They just consider them roses and let that be that.  When you’re dealing with flowers, it’s not hard to look too deeply into a situation and derive some sort of meaning that’s completely different from what you would expect, but you should really take the flowers you get at face value.  Don’t read too deeply into them.  Enjoy the fact that you got them and be nice to whoever got them for you.  When you start dabbling in rose colors and their meaning, it’s too easy to get lost in the nonsense.  You could write entire books on rose colors and their meaning and not even scratch the surface of the subject.  You could read for years about rose colors and their meaning and still have only a fraction of what it’s all about.
Flowers are flowers.  They have different meanings to different people, but that doesn’t mean we should read too deeply into them.  There are times when you look at flowers that you have no clue what they mean because the person who gave them to decided to be mysterious.  You could always ask them what they meant by the flowers they just gave you, but where would the fun be in that.  You want there to be a little bit of mystery left in the equation.  Not everything has to have an answer attached to it.
